Our Community, Our Y, The First 15 Years

Welcome to the new Timmins Family YMCA website.

It is an exciting time to be part of our Y! Although still very young in age and a true first generation YMCA with a charter date of May 25, 1995, a lot has transpired since we moved into our new home in 2003. We are no longer the school on the hill, but pure and simple, we are the Y. It seems symbolic that our building and logo stand out so prominently on the hills of Timmins, overlooking our great community.

We have been constantly renovating our location and have expanded into St-Paul School in Timmins and we have added a Youth Health and Fitness Centre at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex in partnership with the City of Timmins.

With the changes at our main location, we have become a one stop childcare and day camp location, enabling parents to feel extremely comfortable in having their children go through the Y spectrum, from young child, through to pre-school, before and after school programs, summer camp and youth fitness.

We have developed a new mission and vision statement that will guide us over the next few years so that we can better serve our community.

The Board and Staff of the Timmins Family YMCA would like to thank all of its supporters for their continuous helping hand and all the parents and for entrusting the care of their children with the YMCA.
